Tall Ship 'khersones' Visiting At Southend Pier

Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June 2005 

Southend welcomes the return of STS Khersones, a 108.60 metre three-masted 'Windjammer', the only shop of its kind in the world.  Built in 1989 and with an extra fully equipped trainee mavigation bridge installed solely for the trainees and passengers, the shop is known as an 'Active Sail Training Vessel' and is most commonly used by cadets, active trainees or tourists.  This year, not only will visitors be able to go on board at the Pier Head, there will also be an opportunity to take a trip on one of the two sailing trips to be organised. The Southend Illuminated Carnival Procession With The Seafront Illuminations Switch-on And Fireworks Spectacular

Saturday 20th August 2005 Starts approx. 7.45pm. Illuminations switch-on and firworks at approx. 8.45pm.

Free Firework Spectaculars

Southend Seafront
Every Saturday Night from mid September to 5th November 2005 8pm from mid September to mid October. Thereafter at 7pm.

The skies over the seafront dazzle, shimmer and explode with colour every Saturday night at this time of year as a fabulous array of fireworks are launched from a barge at sea just off Jubilee Beach about 100m east of the Pier.  Contact 01702 215120.

Santa On The Pier
